Our bright red shirts with this phrase let people know that this congregation is involved in social ministry that matters. You can learn more about what we do on this page or by selecting the names of the various ministries listed here or on other pages. More importantly, you can help! Your financial contributions are always appreciated, but we also need volunteers to work at community food banks, help at Thrift Stores, contribute food items or used goods for resale in the stores. There are lots of ways to assist. Find out more and sign up to help!

Imagine No Malaria
Because of the work of the United Methodist Church in combating malaria in Africa, the United Nations asked the Church to lead its effort to eliminate the disease from the African continent. The United Methodist Church is raising money, delivering medications and protective nets, and making a difference. Since 2013 the incidence of deaths due to malaria have been cut in half, and the work continues. You can participate with a contribution of just $10 for medications or $10 for a net. If you like, you may also join one of the mission teams traveling to Africa to distribute medications, install nets over beds, instruct residents about using the nets, and help save lives. |
Give Ye Them to Eat
GYTTE was founded in 1977 as a social outreach project of the Methodist Church of Mexico to combat hunger and poverty in the rural sector. The purpose of the "Give Ye Them to Eat" program (GYTTE) is to strengthen the capabilities of marginalized people and communities to meet their basic needs, and to determine and sustain a just and integrated development process. Participatory methods and development tools are used to create conditions in which change can take place from within the communities. GYTTE uses people-centered approaches to development. |
